Please pray

Yesterday I had to take my mom to the ER after finding her very weak and tired. She had chemo this weekend. My mom has an infection which they are calling "septic" and on top of that had a heart attack and now is in the ICU fighting to stay alive.

I am devestated as the rest of my family is too. If you are religious please please pray for her. If you are not religious then please send positive thoughts our way.

I don't usaully ask for prayers or dust, but I need everything I can get. I just am going back to the hospital for the night. Sleep is not coming easy. All of our family from out of town is in route to here now.

I am heartbroken beyond belief.

Went to the Dr. today

I had a check up today, I am almost at 30 weeks. My blood pressure is normal, thankfully. I have had high blood pressure in the past, but so far it has not gotten high throughout my pregnancy.

I did gain more weight, the Dr. told me that I am just about the bottom of the total "goal weight gain" for the pregnancy so far and I have 10 more weeks to go. I got a small lecture about eating healthy and not eating too much sweets or carbs. I admit I have been loving sweets and I've always loved carbs. I guess I need to cut back a bit and eat more vegetables and fruits.

The Dr. said I am measuring right on track, and getting bigger. She said I will gain about a 1/2 cm. a week in growth in my belly. I am going to be pretty big by the end.

D and I are going to set an appointment for a 3d ultrasound within the next 2 weeks. I looked at www.prenatalpeek.com and now is the prime time to have it done. I had my Dr. fill out the release form so we can go ahead.

I just signed up the rest of my appointments for the Dr. until I am 40 weeks. She said tonight I can have the baby anytime after the next 7 weeks (right around Christmas). I hope he stays in a little longer. I can't believe I am going to be a mommy soon.

New President

I am very happy to have witnessed history change tonight. I was so fearful about this not happening today, I was fearing a replay of the 2004 election. All my fears were set aside when America spoke loud and clear that we needed a change.

From yahoo.com:

Barack Obama swept to victory as the nation's first black president Tuesday night in an electoral college landslide that overcame racial barriers as old as America itself. "Change has come," he declared to a huge throng of cheering supporters.

The son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from Kansas, the Democratic senator from Illinois sealed his historic triumph by defeating Republican Sen. John McCain in a string of wins in hard-fought battleground statesOhio, Florida, Virginia, Iowa and more.

On a night for Democrats to savor, they not only elected Obama the nation's 44th president but padded their majorities in the House and Senate, and come January will control both the White House and Congress for the first time since 1994.

Election Day

Please go out and voice your opinion today.

Prop 8
I feel very strongly that all people should have equal rights. I think that Prop 8 is a discriminatory law. I have family and friends that this law would directly change their rights.

I feel very strongly about 3 California propositions # 2, 4, & 8.

Prop 4 goes against a belief in the religion I am in the middle of converting to, but I have been and continue to be pro-choice for all women.

Animal rights have always been close to my heart, I was a vegetarian for 6 years and stopped eating meat because of animal rights reasons. Since I have started eating meat again, I always buy free-range chicken, eggs and organic meat.

Oh my I've been HOT!

I have been a bad wife lately.

I have been VERY HOT at night and sleeping with the window open and just a sheet on me. He has been freezing his butt off. Poor thing. Last night he got up and slammed the window closed and tried to pull the sheets off of me and when I pulled back, he got a blanket from the hall closet.

I just can't help it though, I feel like even with the window open and a sheet on me, I wake up sweating. I felt like I was getting away with not being too pregnant during the summer and here I am still hot. I just have to think, how much hotter I would have been if I was due in the later summer months.
